Nick Burgin:

Nick is an experienced Project Manager and Business Analyst with a track record of successfully implementing business-critical projects in a variety of settings. With over 15 years experience of implementing complex financial and trading systems and introducing policies, procedures and processes in sectors as diverse as Financial Services, Property, and Engineering, Nick has extensive experience to draw on. While most of his work has been with large organisations, his 20-year involvement with the family business has kept him closely in touch with the daily realities of running a small business.

What makes Nick stand out is his gift for seeing the “whole picture”; he balances clear-headed analysis with an ability to see beyond the technology to the learning needs of the people who will use it. Nick firmly believes that business systems implementations are only as good as the quality and effectiveness of the training provided – and are complete only when people are happy to rate themselves as competent to do their jobs using the new systems.

Nick has a talent for translating IT “techno-speak” into the everyday language of business users, and for seeing beyond the obvious to identify alternative courses of action. A natural collaborator, Nick is equally effective in a specialist role, or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

Nick graduated with a BSc(hons) in Ship Science and pursued 2 years PhD research before choosing to follow a career in business. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. A former member of the British Sailing Team, Nick was ranked 5th in the world. He has recently qualified as an International Sailing Umpire and participates in this capacity at international regattas.
